Synopsis: Updated 8:39 PM PDT As I said last night Kilauea is not quiet which was shown clearly today. 157 quakes or more since midnight… So HVO just released another statement. This is part of it. I placed it in italics as it was added after the initial posting. HAWAIIAN VOLCANO OBSERVATORY INFORMATION STATEMENT U.S. Geological Survey Wednesday, July 24, 2024, 4:21 PM HST (Thursday, July 25, 2024, 02:21 UTC) 7:21 PM PDT KILAUEA (VNUM #332010) 19°25’16” N 155°17’13” W, Summit Elevation 4091 ft (1247 m) Current Volcano Alert Level: ADVISORY Current Aviation Color Code: YELLOW An abrupt increase in seismicity accompanied by local deformation on July 22 at 11 a.m. HST marked the initial stage of magma intruding underground in the upper East Rift Zone (UERZ) of Kīlauea. This activity is concentrated between Pauahi Crater and Maunaulu along Chain of Craters Road in Hawaiʻi Volcanoes National Park. A stronger pulse of seismicity and local deformation began on July 23 at 3:30 a.m. HST and was coincident with deflation of Kīlauea summit. The summit has been steadily deflating since then as magma moves into the vertical, sheet-like body (dike) beneath the UERZ near Pauahi Crater. A third pulse of activity began today on July 24 at 10 a.m. HST as dike emplacement continues. Each pulse lasted approximately 2–3 hours, but seismicity and deformation continued at levels well above normal between the pulses. In total, there have been nearly 1,000 earthquakes located in the UERZ of Kīlauea over the past 3 days; 250 of those earthquakes exceeded magnitude-2 and the largest event was a magnitude-3.6. Earthquakes have remained 1–3 km (0.6–1.8 miles) beneath the surface. As of 4:30 p.m. on July 24, the dike continues to grow, and unrest may continue to wax and wane with changes to the input of magma into the area. An eruption is not currently imminent, but conditions could change rapidly. Unrest has been restricted to UERZ; no unusual activity has been noted along Kīlauea’s middle and lower East Rift Zones or the Southwest Rift Zone. The USGS Hawaiian Volcano Observatory (HVO) continues to closely monitor Kīlauea for changes. * Sharp heart and earaches * ********************************************************************************** There has been no major changes at Yellowstone but this is what I rec’d today from Wyoming. YELLOWSTONE VOLCANO OBSERVATORY INFORMATION STATEMENT U.S. Geological Survey Wednesday, July 24, 2024, 3:43 PM MDT (Wednesday, July 24, 2024, 21:43 UTC) 2:43 PM PDT What happened? The July 23, 2024, hydrothermal explosion at Biscuit Basin resulted from water suddenly transitioning to steam in the shallow hydrothermal system beneath Black Diamond Pool and was not caused by volcanic activity. Seismicity, ground deformation, and gas and thermal emissions remain at their normal background levels, and there were no detectable precursors to this event. The explosion, which sent steam and debris to a height of hundreds of feet above the ground, destroyed a nearby boardwalk and ejected grapefruit-sized rocks tens to hundreds of feet from the source. Some blocks closest to the explosion site are about 3 feet (1 meter) wide and weigh hundreds of pounds. The explosion was largely directed to the northeast toward the Firehole River, and the largest blocks of debris fell in that direction. The dark color of the explosion was a result of mud and debris mixed with steam and boiling water. Although visitors were present at the time of the event, no injuries were reported. Black Diamond Pool and Black Opal Pool were affected by Tuesday’s explosion, and while they remain distinct features, the shape of Black Diamond has changed somewhat. Both pools are murky due to debris, and the unstable ground around their edges occasionally slides into the water. Just after the eruption, Black Diamond Pool exhibited minor roiling and water spouting. The water level in the pool rose over the course of the day, and by Tuesday afternoon the roiling transitioned to occasional bursts of hot water that reached about 8 feet (2.4 meters) in height. What is happening now? By Wednesday morning, July 24, the levels of Black Diamond Pool and Black Opal Pool had risen enough that both were overflowing and sending murky water into the Firehole River. No water bursts from Black Diamond Pool were witnessed Wednesday morning. What are ongoing hazards? Given the recent changes to the hydrothermal plumbing system, small explosions of boiling water from this area in Biscuit Basin continue to be possible over the coming days to months. USGS and NPS geologists will be monitoring conditions, mapping the debris field, and sampling water to assess any changes in the shallow hydrothermal system over the next several days. Seismic flu.* New quakes 4.0 or more. Fiji, Honshu Japan, Alberta Canada, Chile, Turkey.

WORLD QUAKES USA QUAKES VOLCANOES & SOLAR EVENTS
Largest Quake: 5.3 Timor Region Indonesia 5.1 Banda Sea All 4.0-4.9 Events: Andreanof Islands, Aleutians, Southern Xinjiang China, Banda Sea, Southwest Siberia Russia, Guerrero Mexico, Sumba Indonesia, North Coast Central Peru, Molucca Sea x2, Off Coast of Chiapas Mexico, Fox Islands Aleutian Islands, Sulu Sea USA Western Texas, Snyder x 6, Western Texas near Van Horn x 3, Western Texas near Pecos, Southern Idaho near Challis x2, Oklahoma near Ponca City, Utah near St George, Eastern Missouri near Malden, Central CA near Fort Irwin, Northern AK near Kotzebue, Alaska Penninsula near King Cove, Central Alaska near Susitna, San Francisco CA near Antioch, 88 quakes in Hawaii since midnight. HVO says they are quieting down, based on the numbers I do not agree. Nothing new from Yellowstone area. Northern CA near St Helena, Central AK near Sutton-Alpine. Volcanoes: Indonesia: Ibu, Semeru, Lewotobi, Ecuador: Sangay The last three were not on the final list last night but were on this morning. Italy: Stromboli 7/23 Yellowstone: Hydrothermal Explosion 7/23 Iceland: Svartsengi Imminent eruption 2-3 weeks probable 7/23 Solar Activity: Solar activity remains at above low levels. The G1 storm is pretty much over. The largest event in the last 24 hrs was a m3.6 flare. There were other M and C flares which continue. The pressure is picking up for another event. Based on my symptoms I would say a Halo or Filament is likely or even a larger M class flare, maybe even an X class event. I was sick all night with solar flu.
Cats, Ants Spiders Worms, Plane Incidents, Stalled Vehicles and Others Observations. I had a small ant invasion today. This time they were in the cat food. I placed them in a bag with the food and will release them outside in a while. I hated to move them because of their precursor abilities but the cats need to be able to eat. I have in the past moved the dish and the ants just follow it. So I used a try and bowl. Put their dish on top of the bowl and the bowl on the tray which has been covered in water about 1/4 or so inches deep. That allows the cats to eat and the ants can’t get to the dish. No outside ants as of checking about 10 AM today. No spiders seen in 4 days. No cats sick that I am aware of… No earthworms on sidewalks etc. Reports from others… Several reporting back pains and dizziness these are the main two complaints I am hearing. There were 2 reports of sadness, one report of R leg pains. N CA reports all ants gone outside that were going all along the house and dogs much calmer During this time keep an eye on your dogs and cats I am seeing a large increase of missing pets. I belong to a group on line called Next Door I think you can get it anywhere you live for your own area. Anyway its heart breaking to see all the reports of these missing animals. Jim Berkeland from USGS CA used the missing pets to predict the Loma Prieta Quake in 1989. I as part of Project Animal Watch when I lived in Sacramento and I got Jim to be part of it as well. He was good. I made my prediction via symptoms and he used the animals we usually backed up each others forecasts for events. I am going to add another observation title… Plane Incidents. Its a known fact that before some quakes, small aircraft crashes go up quickly 1- 2 days before an event. These planes from my research tend to lose power just before landing or just as they are taking off.. I have been following these events sine Mt St Helen’s erupted in 1980. These are mostly small private planes but occasionally a larger jet is involved. Since Monday we had plane incidents in California w/ fatalities Great Falls MT Oxford Indiana w/fatalities Oshkosh WI w/fatalities Today small Canadian Air. Katmandu India crashed on takeoff… 18 fatalities pilot survived.
Symptoms and Locations: As stated above the main complaints are headaches , earaches and leg pains. Back pains and pressure across chest sternum pains. Heart pains. Dizziness. Back pains lower back and some L side back and mid low back, L shoulder blade and L ribs. Vision is not too bad but not as good as yesterday. Balance a bit off but able to move around. Ankles swelling? I bring this one up as others are also reporting this symptom. Earaches mostly the L side and UHF tones several times this morning Its been a while since I had them. The Wasatch/New Madrid seems to be more active in other locations. Peru/Brazil/Columbia/Guatemala and Ecuador/Panama The areas of Texas seems to be getting lots of quakes.. CA seems to be ok, but the area near The Geysers I would say is most likely to get a 4.0 event based on the total number of quakes at The Geysers and Cobb e
Where Next: I am watching Japan, Mexico, Chile, Turkey and Indonesia. Most of Central America is in the active zone, with all the leg pains, hip pains, knee pains etc. Then we have the Ribs the L side is Oceania , that would be AU NZ, PNG and Kermadec Islands. Still getting some of that Then we have R ribs for the Domino Islands also active but not as painful. The low back is Wasatch/New Madrid and with all the quakes in Texas its no surprise its painful. The mid lower back is Tonga and Fiji and both are active and causing the pain The L side shoulder blade is Japan, * heart pains if over 6.5* Mild stomach pains The headache is back and its migraine again. mostly frontal but some of the L side of the head. This is almost always volcanic in origin My L temple is mildly sore again like it was 2 days ago. * Chile/Bolivia/Argentina* L leg and knee is definitely related to Peru/Brazil/ etc.. The swelling is something that is not new but does not happen often. BP is good, heart rate is also good. So heart pains are definitely seismically induced. Heart and ears can go with several areas. Hawaii, and its volcanic. The areas of Whittier, Pasadena and Palm Springs CA. Stomach pains go with several areas as well. Most likely is volcanism. Mt Hood, Mammoth, Bishop and Coalinga. The Geysers N CA , Big Bear, Yucca Valley and Simi Valley CA Alaska, Iceland and the Wasatch/New Madrid especially ID, UT, CO, TX, OK, IL and TN/MO. Indonesia volcanoes. India/Nepal and Turkey.
Areas That Have My Interest: Yellowstone, Lake Tahoe area, Palos Verdes CA area and Off Oregon Coast and Off Vancouver Island Canada, Especially the African Plate, Turkey, and India/Nepal and Mexico.. near Oaxaca, Chaipas and Puebla. Watching the Sun and Canary Islands and Montserrat. Finally watching the area of Azores and Galapagos/Ecuador. … not saying anything is happening just monitoring the area and reading what I can about these locations.
