| Yesterday began good and stayed good My daughter was visiting and we were just talking my cane had fallen on the floor I was not using it but like to have it near… it about 4:30PM and I stood up to pick up the cane something I have done many times and I felt a wave of vertigo.. I stood up and went into that backwards walk before your fall. So Thankful my daughter was here… she was able to grab me and stop the fall… I would or could have been seriously injured as I would have fallen backwards and there were lots of things behind me that if I fell against them I could have been seriously injured like glass topped lamp table etc.. so very grateful. Went over with cane and took half a meclizine.. my daughter was laving and I walked her to the door and she said don’t come outside which was a good idea so I locked up the house and she left. I picked up a soda and a tube of soda crackers and fixed a hot water bottle and came in and sat down. I leaned back, closed my eyes which was a big mistake. It felt like I was in a whirlwind and opened my eyes which was a even bigger mistake. The room immediately went into full blown ” Merry Go Round “ mode, not just moving, it was spinning at what seemed was close to 20mph I have no idea but it was so fast hard to see anything. Then I would put my attention on a corner near the ceiling and it was off the the races again more intense spinning. Then the waves of nausea hit…first thought was stroke so I put myself through the stroke test… I was okay…. I had told my daughter when it happened that it was quake.. so I knew it was not physical but it can be scary when you are alone. So that continued I was eating soda crackers and took the other half of meclizine.. dozed off and woke up still having vertigo but a bit better. so ate more crackers and drank some liquid to help with dehydration. So by now it was getting cold in the house I had let the cats onto the enclosed patio earlier. I did not have a fire going and did not feel like starting one. So carefully got up, with cane, called in the cats, shut down the back door and re heated my water bottle. it was about 8 PM So decided to see if I could watch TV.. it was blurry on the text but the picture was not a problem. Put the cats to be about 9:16 and then took a chance and carefully started a fire and fixed myself something to eat. This helped both the heat and the food. So then today I woke up about 3 AM with chest tightness and pressure thought solar it was just a unusual tightness. So had some peppermint and went back to sleep. This morning I have milder balance issues and blurry vision. Cats are quiet and sleeping. About 10:09 I rec’d my first text from a sensitive in S CA there had been a strong quake in S CA. Originally they were thinking 5.9 then it dropped to 5.7 and finally emsc had it at 5.2 and USGS says 5.2 so I checked my final say site and the Pacific West Coast Tsunami Warning Center * PWCTWC *in Alaska… they are my go to link for magnitude. Sometimes less but most often higher than any one else. Since they are responsible for getting word out they are my best site. So they say 5.6 so this is the magnitude I am going with. So many many aftershocks since this quake. It was felt in a large area since it was shallow only 7 miles deep. So we are on a timeline of 12-72 hrs for the largest a/s or sometimes a Main Shock. This quake hit 3 miles N or Julian near San Diego. There was a small quake 1 minute before this 5.6 event and it was Borrego Springs. This would have been my best guess for the location of a quake. It was actually only 10 miles from the quake which makes sense. It was on the Elsinore Fault which for me I have always had more concerns for the Elsinore/Inglewood Fault which I drove when I visited LA area in 1979 .. that one always concerned me more than the San Andreas. Not that it’s not dangerous but I don’t have the same concerns. Per USGS this fault is capable of 6.0-7.5 or greater quakes. Good New No Tsunami was generated offshore S CA. There has been numerous a/s so far…. 75 of them and counting. So that’s what’s happening and that is why you did not get a short update yesterday. 6.5 Fiji 1:03 PM PDT 4/13 Beyond this at 1:2o AM yesterday there was a 6.5 event in Fiji Islands. It’s the mid lower back R side I had noticed that the mid lower back pains which are both Tonga L side and Fiji R side had been really painful. So a 6.5 quake after the cats, ants and the back pains was not so surprising. Especially with having the ” Frogs ” they are seldom wrong. Multiple reports of people craving sweets and Popcorn. Before the quake in Fiji and the one today near San Diego CA. Four reports of people experiencing balance issues, chest pressure/not pain and craving POPCORN and I am craving carbs and sugar along with the popcorn … Cats are just going outside.. ants are down to about a dozen before the quake but are back now. Boots my tabby just came in the house and got sick he couldn’t do it outside he had to come in and do it in the house.SO… more coming… also report from AZ 2 cats, 4 areas of being sick. So I will try to get a regular update out, I know it will be late.. having problems between balance and vision.
