| UPDATE: September 09, 2025 Synopsis and Symptoms Today was a continuation of last night with the quakes offshore Port Orford on the Southern Oregon Coast. The largest it is believed will be the main shock … I hope so but I am not so sure. The 5.8 the first event at 9:08 PM last night was quickly followed by another event of 4.4 and then another 4.4 and then a 4.9 at 10:59 PM then another 4.3 and another 4.9 as well as 5.1 and 4.4 There was a 4.0 off Ferndale CA at 2:31 PM today and a 4.1 in Toyah Texas, 55 miles from New Mexico. There is a history of quake swarms in this area..as follows.. I did a bit of research and this is what I found. Getting L side headache above the ear and into the temple… really painful 2:00 AM 9/10 Some background The most recent significant earthquake swarm near the Southern Oregon coast occurred in December 2021, a series of over a dozen earthquakes, including a magnitude 5.8 event, in the Blanco fracture zone. Another, smaller swarm with a 5.7 and a 3.2 magnitude quake happened in the same area in December 2020 and December 2024, respectively, with the largest earthquake in that series a magnitude 6.0 earthquake in October 2024. Earthquake Swarm in December 2021 A notable earthquake swarm began in the Blanco fracture zone, a region known for seismic activity off the Oregon coast. More than a dozen magnitude-5+ earthquakes struck within a few days, starting on December 7, 2021. Two of the largest earthquakes in the series reached a magnitude of 5.8. Other Recent Seismic Activity October 2024: A 6.0 magnitude earthquake struck off the coast west of Bandon, and was the largest earthquake in the Blanco Fracture Zone in the past 10 years. December 2024: A 5.7 magnitude earthquake struck west of Port Orford, with two subsequent quakes with magnitudes 3.2 and 4.9. Why This Area Experiences Swarms These quakes happen in the Blanco fracture zone, where two tectonic plates are grinding against each other. This area is a complex network of fracture lines and is a separate geological feature from the larger Cascadia Subduction Zone. There has not been any more quakes in the last 6 hours or more. Reports on the dog in N CA is that he is very agitated and anxious around 5:35 PM tonight. The cats are pretty laid back on this one Merlin cried just a very short time tonight. Its time for them to go to bed… so will get back on this in a bit. 10:15 PM Its 11:34 PM I had to handle a bit of business now I can finish the update, Its been at least 5 hours since the last quake off the coast of Oregon. The last two quakes were 2.7 and the last one was 2.6 I am not saying this is all… in fact I am almost certain more is coming. The usual pattern is the precursor, the main shock, a/s quiet time, and then either another a/s or perhaps a larger quake. HOPEFULLY not. Today we have had quakes in N CA near Cobb/ The Geysers, Central CA near Coalinga, Searles Valley, S. CA near Barstow and Chiapas MX, Baja CA MX, Guatemala, Ecuador, South Africa, Port Orford Oregon and all 4 locations, /seas for Indonesia have hit… Molucca, Banda, Flores, and Celebes… so Indonesia has more chances to have another quake. There is quake activity in Straits of Gibraltar, Spain, Canary Islands, I have been getting on and off earaches… L side with puffs which has always gone with Mt Hood Oregon and then another not crackling exactly but definitely something happening in the R ear. It stopped and then hit again several times during the day and into tonight. Today there has been an ongoing migraine strength headache this is almost always L sided but today I had that same above the eye and eye socket pains on the R side There was a sense of spaciness today even with the meclizine I was not comfortable enough to drive. This one I connected to a 5.3 quake in Chile. Kuril Islands 5.0 Fiji also had activity as did Honshu Japan, Kamchatka also is in this mix as well Quakes also in Virgin Islands, Nicaragua, Puerto Rico, and more. There was also multiple quakes in Turkey, Dedocanese Islands, Northern and Central CA, Mexico, Oceania and more. | BALANCE: Balance was off all day… really spacey. As I said earlier, even with Meclizine there was no way I was comfortable thinking about driving today. Dept perception was off and vision was blurry not affecting the vision but not able to focus. VISION: As above, not able to focus there were several persons who also reported vision issues with blurry vision. Cats: The cats were pretty laid back today… Merlin was pretty calm except for 2 times he got really ancy and ran around crying and hiding and just sitting in one spot and cried. The other two were pretty good they did do zoomies one time. I noticed when I put them to bed for the night that one of them had been sick …. Ants: The ants are mostly in their dish none on the floor but before the 5.1 they had disappeared again. No Spiders No spiders seen in over a week..perhaps due to the fact that I have had all the doors closed to the outside. No Earthworms No earthworms have been seen or reported by contacts in at least 9 states Out of area reports. Report from N. CA Spirit the Husky was acting like he did before the 5.8 quake he grabbed his stuffed toy and was running around whining from room to room, this is the way he reacts before quakes that are building especially in N and Central CA as well as Offshore Oregon events. Solar activity: The solar activity has been kind of lower levels and the solar wind stream could hit us this weekend with a G1 storm. Sounds and Frogs: The dual tones for N from Northern Canada to Russia. The horn honking effect. Then there were frogs reported by 2 persons plus myself since Sunday. I will only add my paragraph of what I was experiencing … HEADACHE PAINS: R side headache Alaska, Philippines Iceland, Azores ( Hawaii/Italy ) L side headache Chile, Turkey, Indonesia, Mexico and most Stratovolcanoes Brow Bone Pain This is classic that the pains that hit over the bones. ( can include eye socket ) Temple to temple pain Northern CA and all of Northern and Central CA to the CA/NV Sierras. Frontal center of forehead pains Southern CA including Los Angeles and Imperial Valley etc. Back of head base of skull pains This is always a precursor to new or on going volcanism. BACK PAINS: The mid upper back Turkey with connections to Aegean, Caspian, Ionian Seas & Dodecanese Islands of both Turkey and Greece, Crete and Syria. The full upper back Indonesia, Banda, Molucca, Flores and Celebes Seas. The mid lower back pains are L L side is Tonga Islands The mid lower back pains are R Re is Fiji Islands Shoulder blades pains: The R side . Kuril Islands can be either Japan or Russia. The L side This is Japan… can include may locations most often Honshu and Hokkaido. Wasatch and New Madrid… ID, UT, AZ, OK, TX, NM, TN, MO, KY, AR and IL. WY, CO, KS, SC, NC SC, and IL VA OH, VT, NJ, and there can be more. EARS: R side earache This connects this is Alaska, Iceland, Philippines and Italy and Hawaii. Taiwan, Leeward, Windward, Trinidad, Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico and Nicaragua. L side earache China, Pakistan, Afghanistan ,India, Nepal, and Myanmar. Both ears can go with some quakes in Southern CA and larger water or volcano events. CHEST PAINS: The sharp chest pains Southern CA into MX and into Japan over 6.0 and some large water events. Borrego Springs El Centro, Brawley, Oxnard, Long Beach, Rialto, Palm Springs, Whittier, Pasadena and Burbank, Then we have Japan over 6.0 and India, Nepal and Myanmar. Santa Barbara Channel and Santa Monica as well as Los Angeles greater area, Palos Verdes and Northridge as well as Anaheim area. The achy chest pains Parts of Cascades, Sierras, Northern CA between Eureka to the Bay and SF Bay proper The Geysers and the CA/NV Sierras as including Bishop, Coalinga, Ridgecrest, etc. Alaska and Iceland. Puebla * Puebla is always on the R side of the chest all is Puebla. STOMACH PAINS: The achy pains This is the area of the Wasatch and new Madrid including ID, UT, AZ, OK, TX, NM, TN, MO, KY, AR and IL. WY, CO, KS, SC, NC SC, and IL VA OH, VT, NJ, and there can be more. The ones like ID, UT, IL, AR, K and IL all cause seismic flu. Alaska, Philippines and Iceland and some of the Cascades. The sharp stomach pains These are mostly connected to Imperial Valley, to India, includes, Nicobar and Andaman Islands, Nepal, Myanmar, Tibet, Kashmir and Bangladesh …… RIB PAINS: Left ribs Oceania including AU, NZ, PNG NS the Kermandec Islands. New Ireland and New Britain, Eastern New Guinea PNG and Papua New Guinea PNG as well as the N and S Islands of NZ.. R Ribs This is the Domino Islands..Tonga, Fiji, Samoa, Marianas, Solomon, Santa Cruz, Admiralty, Loyalty, Marshal, and Vanuatu. LEG PAINS: L Leg pains Guatemala and Ecuador R Leg pain Peru, Brazil, Columbia, Panama and Costa Rica. |
